Streets in minds or minds in streets?
Nowadays, many people are in a poor condition of mental health and well-being or even suffering from mental illnesses. Hereby the environment around us and how we think and feel about it can have a significant impact. This includes experiences with nature and urban areas, which also closely interact with social factors like being with friends and the community, and with individual internal and external resources to go through situations or handle challenges.
Our environment around us may shape how we feel, act, and behave
We aim to learn more about how our environment is affecting people’s ways of life including short and long-term well-being. This includes some of the greatest global environmental challenges like climate change, pollution, noise emission and COVID-19 pandemic up to the individual world of citizens in their specific and meaningful contexts. To identify interactions between the individual and its environment can help to develop strategies and tools to better manage mental health and well-being, and keep being in a good health state.
Your participation is important!
For this we want to liaise with YOU, as the individuals, who know better than anyone else, what your daily lived experiences in the streets of your environment are. We hope that you will contribute with your own knowledge, feelings about and behaviors in your surrounding places and areas. This may not only be of interest for us, as scientists, but with sharing your experiences you can also provide an important snap for other people in the community, people that are new in your area, but also for the long establishes ones and distribute this across Europe to find the most suitable streets enjoying daily life.
